EXACT VU: High Resolution Micro-Ultrasound System
The ExactVu Micro-Ultrasound System is the only high-resolution (29MHz) system that allows real-time visualization of the prostate and guided biopsies.
It allows the doctor to visualize suspicious areas that in a standard ultrasound, would go unnoticed. In addition, this system allows us to visualize the peripheral zone of the prostate; this is of great importance because more than 70% of prostate tumors are detected in this area.
Conventional ultrasound only allows analysis on a centimeter scale, the average size of prostate tumors is a few millimeters. The high resolution of the ExactVu Micro-Ultrasound System not only detacts possible focuses of tumors, but also allows us to assess whether they are more aggressive tumors.
One of the advantages of this system is that it does not require previous studies and can be performed in the office or in the operating room on an outpatient basis. It is ideal for performing biopsies directed by both transperineal and transrectal access. This system can replace or improve prostate MRI with higher cancer detection rates.
